Two-week wait
WHAT: The maddening amount of time you have to wait after your transfer until you return to the clinic for a blood test to determine if you are pregnant.
WHY: It takes about two weeks from the time a fertilized egg implants in the uterine wall for it to start emitting enough of the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) to be detected by a blood test.
HOW: This test is done by blood draw in clinic which is the most reliable pregnancy test available.
